Why hide and veil what is present in the lives of each of us? My Room. With Me and Without —is a new personal project by Ruslan Tremba at Ya Gallery Kyiv art center built in the format of a simulated personal space of two rooms of the artist.

I love it // I do it

Ruslan Tremba

Tremba is mostly seen as monochromatic and deliberately lush by his audience. This time, however, in two halls of Tremba's simulated personal space, we will discover the artist in different guises.

Brilliant, with recognizable color blocks — in the Room without him. This is how Ruslan is seen by his audience. And as frank as possible — as the artist is — in the space of His room, where there is no place for the unreal. Only the intimate and corporeal. This is exactly what the new cycle of his graphic erotic works is about — something that many of us are not ready to bring to the public.

Why hide and veil what is present in the life of each of us?

The main question the artist raises in the exhibition halls is: what are the limits of our perception? And which of the two rooms impresses us more: the frank one alone with ourselves or the monochrome as we accepted by society?

Even the most abstract Tremba's works always appeal to corporality and sexuality. But this "sex" isn't sexual. Substext in Tremba's pieces is just polemicizing about the physical nature of artwork itself.
