Sculpture route in Stryiskyi Park
As part of Lviv Sculpture Week 2023
The theme of this year's sculpture week is Old and New.
A collection of modern sculptures will be shown in one of Lviv's favorite old parks.
Part of the sculptures of the Chervone-Chorne Art Group, which organizes the Kaniv Sculpture Symposium, has been invited to Lviv. A route has been created, along which we offer you to walk and familiarize yourself with the works of Ukrainian and foreign artists.
The material that unites the sculptures is granite from Ukrainian quarries. Some works are an abstract symbol, some continue the theme of classical art, but in a new modern language. There will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the work of Yoshin Ogata, who is dominated by abstract forms and appeals to the four elements. In the work Water, the sculptor interprets the Japanese legend about the creation of his native islands, the harmony and rhythm of nature. Oleksandr Dyachenko, a Ukrainian artist and co-curator of the Kaniv Symposium, will present several works dominated by archetypal human images. You will also meet the sculptures of Vasyl Korchovoy, Vitaly Protoseni, Oleg Kapustyak and the Bulgarian Zdravko Zdravkov.
We hope that it will be an exciting route and that you will come back again and again. We want the park to be interesting and dynamic. After the project ends, you will be missing something, and we will think about what art will be next. Enjoy nature and sculpture, which always look good together.
The project of the Sculpture route was approved by the department of ecology of the city of Lviv. The organizers made sure that the soil and vegetation will not be damaged thanks to the use of special simple foundation designs.
