Project "New Naive" is supplemented with answers to the question about the possibilities of visual self-expression.
Roman Dubrovskyi doesn't have a formal education in art, but is artistically gifted. His inspirations fit the concept of "New Naive", yet his works are serious observations. The reality is complex.
"I attempt to accent this, emphasize it, attract the audience's attention to it".
The author decided to immerse into the sea of contemporary nonsense under Surrealist flags: "Classic landscapes, portraits and still lives are of little interest to me. I have my Olympus for it. Yet I cannot deliver the inner tension by its means. That's why I paint".
Even though his works are overfilled with surrealistic imagery, Roman is undeniably working with actual reality. According to the "Pope of Surrealism", Andre Breton, artist is a "recording machine". In Roman's case - a recording machine of social life. "Soc-Surrealism is a means of communicating important messages right into the depths of people's conscience".
The artist doesn't see any sense in changing anything. He only expresses his irony concerning "the most outstanding events that surround us". The spectator is approached by images united by the author's critical perspective. That's why the works differ from one another visually.
Every phenomenon receives its own genre and composition. Exciting events turn into facts.
