Exhibition Kyiv Ya Gallery

Sculptor Denys Shymansky called his first personal exhibition in Kyiv Dependence. The representative of the New Lviv sculpture chose the metaphorical form of unstable, dangerous situations, which he creates with the help of ceramic heads and wedges - to accurately characterize today's vulnerable time, and in particular, the events in Ukraine.

On the edge Balance. Extreme. Dependence. Stability. Support/support. Simplicity. Fragility. Support. Parallelism. Resistivity - words in the author's notebook that he mentions next to sketches of future sculptures. The reception and the idea of the exhibition are built around these words.

In two exhibition halls and a terrace there are objects designed according to the principle of finding stability and balance. Stylized, simplified fireclay heads are the main characters of the project. The relative stability of the heads is provided by terracotta wedges of various sizes and designs.

Dependence is, first of all, a feeling of acuteness of space. It is a game with our fear and the possibility of being in the same volume with "dangerous art" that does not allow us to relax and be inattentive. One wrong move and everything can be destroyed, broken, crippled. The sculptor risks losing the result of his work and consciously acts as a provocateur, author and director of such a situation.
