Sadan
2010 - graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts (specialty "the restoration of art works").
He started his artistic search as an illustrator and graphic artist (socially-critical themes), but today Sadan is completely focused on plastic arts which follows classical-baroque sculpture in his performance. An idea that comes through all of the artist's works and connects them into one narrative is the idea of spiritual evolution expressed in the form of physical development.
"Evolution as an idea emerged after I drew a small series of works entitled "Useless", where objects were not bones and meat, but visually alive, completed forms, then a thought appeared to develop meat further. To sort of grow new bones, new meat, nerve cells, heart etc. on initial material. To animate them. Evolution, as I understand and imagine it now, will be a development of not only visual forms but, their content. If "Meat. Simulacrum" is aimed at solely critical aspect, then I will further to try to not only criticize society's problematic sides, but to provide some alternatives to them. For example, while criticizing stereotypical physical or material beauty, I will provide different beauty - spiritual or also physical, but from a different perspective, as an alternative..."
Sadan, about the project "Meat. Simulacrum", February 2010
"The imagery of his sculptures is quite viable, as it is possible for a pile of bones and several strained muscles. In the future, I can see people standing in lines to see his exhibitions where the main heroes will be dimensional embodiments of his graphical explorations - pessimistic prophesies of future life forms. He appeals to us, because he frightens us."
