He was born on January 10, 1943 in the village of Staromishchyna in the Ternopil region. Lives and works in Lviv.
He received his primary art education at the Art School in Lviv, with the assistance of Roman Turin.
In 1966, he graduated from the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts, majoring in monumental sculpture. Studied with Dmytro Kravavych, Danylo Dovboshynskyi.

The author of numerous monumental sculptures, chamber sculptures, poems and graphics.
His monuments, carved from stone, are known - to Colonel Yevhen Konovalts in the city of Zhovkva in the Lviv region, a monument to Markiyan Shashkevych in the village of Nestanychi, Radekhiv district. Madonna and Child, Jesus Christ - Thinker, portrait of the artist Shatkivskyi, Intercession of the Mother of God - these works are kept in the Museum of Modern Art in Kyiv.
In the 1980s and 1990s, he worked at the LKSF as a sculptor and ceramist.
Famous are his lions that decorate the entrance to the Lviv City Hall, the copper monument of the Intercession of the Mother of God in the city of Busk in the Lviv region, the monument to the 1000th anniversary of the Christianization of Ukraine-Rus in the city of Genk (Belgium).
He also works in the field of memorial sculpture. His works perpetuate the memory of famous cultural figures at the Lychakiv and Baikovo cemeteries in Lviv and Kyiv.
A significant place in creativity is occupied by ceramic plastic of small forms. It is known about the influence on the artist's work of the masters of the village of Gavarechchyna, Zolochiv district, which is famous for its black smoke ceramics. The artist sculpted portraits of these potters, depicted them in small forms from the same clay from which they made their products, which are in the permanent exhibition of the Olesky Castle.
